Muffins...not just big cupcakes?

Lesson 1: muffin recipe makes good muffins but baaaaaaaaaad cupcakes.
Lesson 2: making choc piped cake decorations the day before the end of Lent is a dumb idea for someone who can't eat choc for 24 hours! (at least I'm improving my self control)
Lesson 3: making coloured sugar is easy (see below)
(black/grey, yellow, blue, green, pink and the white is vanilla flavoured)
Point of todays lessons is that Marmoset is mostly baking and experimenting with cupcake/muffin decoration today.

Lessons still to come:

  1. how to make fondant icing
  2. how to make coloured fondant icing from a large batch of white
  3. how to cover muffins with fondant
  4. how to make fondant flowers and ribbons
  5. attempt to make animal shaped muffins (this is the least likely to happen)
  6. piping butter icing
  7. decorating cupcakes with cutter icing and coloured sugar
  8. how to have a squillion yummy sugar based foods in the kitchen and not eat them all (this may be the hardest lesson of all)
