I have heard on the grapevine that although the job I interviewed for last week was only advertised internally that there might be an external candidate that they like. Not sure I can stick around if I don't get it. The job was thrust at me by loads of management (including the new manager) and now I think they might just be stringing me along. Perhaps they've worked out that if I think I've got a future there that I will stick around and do another academic session. My role is notoriously hard to recruit for so they really don't want me to go.
