It missed the fan…

It seems that evil boss didn’t want the damned offer to happen in the first place but he never stands up to anyone else in the organisation so he just let them go ahead with it. He didn’t tell us it was happening and next week at the EoC (Event of the Century) it would have all gone horribly wrong and would have involved superboss (MrP – he looks like the man on the Pringles tube). Sooo overall no brown stuff and fans but he let us do his dirty work for him. Still not sure the folks who instigated the dumbass offer have even been told that it’s not happening now. EoC starts on Sunday and I still don’t know what I’m doing and when. Exhibition is 08:00 – 20:00 Monday / 08:30 – 20:00 Tues – Thurs. We have 2 stands and 3 of us until end of Monday then just me and evil boss for the rest of the week. The 2 stands aren’t near each other but his one can be abandoned at times (near the other work stands) but mine will need permanent manning. Not sure when I’m meant to eat, sit, sleep as there will be later evening events which I may be required to attend to show willing. Everyone else in the organisation (except evil boss’ team – him and 3 of us minions) gets time off in lieu (TOIL) for working evenings (ie outside normal working hours) so they’ll all be compensated with TOIL or flexitime/overtime pay for working after 5pm but we won’t be. No sleep, no food, no TOIL…it’s gonna be good.

On a much happier note me and RC (Running Colleague) went to the country park in our village last night and collected 9.5 large freezer bags full of plums. Free fruit – we love it and it’s going to be jamtastic at both our houses. Luckily I have a huge chest freezer with not much in it and she’s buying a house at the moment and will soon have a big freezer and enough kitchen in which to make jam. We going to get Brambles tomorrow after running.

MrT has finally realised that if he runs at my pace and doesn’t speed off ahead he can actually last a lot longer which means that he can do 5km. He struggles to pace himself on his own so he’s started running with me which is nice now he doesn’t bugger off after 2km. I might try to force him into 10km tomorrow but that might eat into brambling time as me and RC are going to a colleague’s house for dinner at 7pm.

The squash plants are doing fab and the fruit is swelling wonderfully with all the rain, We have courgettes coming out of our ears so there’s a whole load gone into the freezer all chopped and ready to use.

Have you tried grated courgettes in place of grated carrot in various baked goodies such as muffins or cake? Highly recommended

Or let a couple get big and make marrow and ginger preserve - yum!
